Siem Reap 2007 Galleries

Siem Reap 2007 (canon ixus version) : 2 years! Didn't seem that long but its been 2 years since i last visted Siem Reap. And such changes! The airport is brand new and this time i didn't need a VISA to enter the Kingdom of Cambodia. As I was drove through the main streets, i noticed so many new hotels had sprout where none had been. Has it only been 2 years? The old man at Ta Prohm (aka Tomb Raider temple) is no longer there (maybe its his day off...) and the Banyan tree over the door seems to have suffered some major trauma... but the smiles on the kids' faces are of the same megawatts and the people of Cambodia exudes the same gentleness and tenacity for life.

Siem Reap 2007 (canon rebel DSLR version) : It was a Fool's Journey at the outset! HA! HA! HA! This trip arises from my desire to address a regret cast 2 yrs ago when i 1st visited Siem Reap. Then, in a fluster, i forgot to download my CF card with photos of my only Angkor Wat morning... (See 'My Angkor Wat Lesson') Should have known... It can never be the same... but it can still be great! And it is Great! 2 yrs ago it was the 1st time I travelled with my DSLR & it had been a frustrating time trying to coerce a good photo out of the big black thing... 2 years later, I'm back & I'm still learning! (Thanks Jansen, Louis, Carie & Junie!) Angkor Wat is truly a personal learning point for me!
